Dear Mr McMillan-Scott, MEP

Are you surprised that many people are disgusted to read that you are to hold a meeting with Gerry and Kate McCann who are suspects in what may be a child murder case?

Please provide a full explanation why you think the McCanns should be given special treatment that would never be given to other suspects.

Please respond to the suggestion that you are personally helping two suspects generate positive media reports in order to create a diversion from the police investigation.

Please explain why time and time again British politicians are aligning themselves with suspects during an ongoing investigation.I look forward to your reply.

GFY

Dear Edward

I wish to express my disgust that the McCann’s who I personally consider to be neglectful and therefore responsible for their childs current situation, are being used as role models to set up a system (amber alert) which would have had absolutely no benefit in their case. Quite simply they went to the pub every night leaving their kids (3 and under) in an unlocked ground floor apartment in a foreign country. They have since set up a web site, fund, employed a PR consultancy, employed the best legal experts, set up a limited company, appeared on tv claiming to have sketched the abductor, all whilst being suspects (arguidos).

I am appalled by what is happening in this case in general but this latest stunt, and that is all it is by the McCanns to get people to forget they neglected all of their children, shows a lack of respect to those parents who cherish every moment of their children’s lives and who now have to repeatedly tell their kids that they will not be left alone and made to disappear. The McCanns in my opinion have set ‘safe parenting’ back 50 years and should not be role models.

Yours Sincerely

D

Dear Mr. McMillan Scott

I have read in the Uk press that the two doctors Mccann are to meet and discuss with you at the European parliament a meeting to consider prospects for a Europe-wide alert.

I see the Mccanns will benefit from the association but I fail to see how a body would wish to align with, or can affiliate itself with the McCanns at this time considering they are still suspects in an ongoing investigation.

In view of the Shannon Matthews case and also the case in Jersey re political scandals possible cover up I believe the European parliament have certain duties obligations and responsibilities and should be setting an example and moving forward not backwards.

The McCanns left three children three years and under alone in an unlocked apartment

Yours sincerely

L

Dear Mr McMillan-Scott

I understand that are to meet the McCanns at the European Parliament where they will make the case for an Amber alert system for children who go missing. If this is true, then I am appalled.

I presume you are aware that these two individuals still have the status arguido and are the prime suspects in the disappearance of their daughter, who was still only 3 years old at the time of her disappearance. These people have admitted to willfully neglecting their 3 children (all under 4 years of age) on consecutive evenings in order to socialise with their friends. Do you not realise how inappropriate it is that this pair of self-proclaimed "voices" of missing children, negligent parents themselves, should be allowed to make a case for anything at the European Parliament? Anyone who supports these people is condoning child neglect. Do you really think that is the correct message to be sending to the parents of Europe?

It's a very sad day when I have to say that I feel ashamed to be British.

Yours sincerely

P

Dear Mr McMillan Scott

I notice from the attached report that Kate and Gerry McCann are to address a plenary session of the European Parliament on Thursday next week (see the following link).

European Parliament: The Week Ahead – 7-13 April 2008
http://tinyurl.com/22w5pt

Missing child hotline. A meeting to consider prospects for a Europe-wide alert system for missing or abducted children will hear from Gerry and Kate McCann, whose daughter Madeleine has been missing since May 2007 (Thursday).

I am writing to express my abhorrence at the inclusion of the McCanns in this schedule. Both Kate and Gerry McCann are arguidos in the case of the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine. Whilst I believe in 'innocent until proven guilty', what is clear by their own admission in interviews is that they left three babies, under the age of 4 years, unattended in a holiday apartment whilst they dined with their friends.

I am sure you are aware that two European police forces, the UK and Portuguese, have identified Mr & Mrs McCann firstly, as negligent parents and secondly, as PRIME suspects in the disappearance of the child.

They are not, in my opinion, the best selection of child advocates. I would strongly suggest that you are undermining your case for a European-wide Amber Alert system by allowing these two people to address your conference. There is too much ill-feeling across the UK, Portugal and other countries about the lack of care that they showed to their own three children for them to ever speak on behalf of responsible parents.

Given the details surrounding this case - any amber alert would not have helped an innocent 3 year old left home alone to watch over her 2 year old siblings.

To give them credibility and a platform at this stage can only be seen as disloyal to the Policia Judicaria and the British Police who are supporting the investigation on a daily basis. Their daughter is still missing and they did not answer all questions posed to them (7th/8th September) in order to assist in her recovery.

The disappearance of Madeleine McCann has already been subjected to gross political interference by government officials at the highest level. It also appears to have suffocated the UK media to a point of compliance.

To include the McCanns on your agenda simply undermines the worthwhile system that you seek to establish. Attendance at the conference will allow more media stories to be generated with a positive bias towards the McCanns and, in so doing, suggests that the Policia Judicaria is pursuing the wrong line of investigation.

Please could you explain why you are willing to meet with Drs Kate and Gerry McCann regarding the Amber Alert system.

I would be grateful if you could explain to me why you seek (or accept) their support and deem them to be the appropriate voice for British parents - many of whom believe that they should answer for their negligence on the 3rd May.

Yours faithfully

K

Dear Mr McMillan-Scott

I am deeply shocked to discover that you are planning to give a platform in the EU to two official suspects in the disappearance of their own daughter, namely K & G McCann.

There is absolutely no evidence of an abduction in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and at the very least her parents are known to have endangered all three of their children's lives (through accident or fire) by abandoning them in a dark apartment night after night while they dined a considerable distance away, out of sight and out of earshot. Three children aged 3 and 2 were left in this very vulnerable situation, in unfamiliar surroundings.

I ask you to reconsider this ill advised meeting, which after all, has only been sought by the McCanns so that it can be included in their forthcoming ITV programme. They have already been advertising that this meeting will be broadcast and I believe it will do your cause irreparable damage.

Yours sincerely

JCL

Mr Edward McMillan-Scott

Do you remember John Gummer?

Do you remember Lord Longford?

It is my belief that if you continue to ally yourself with the McCanns you will probably go down in popular history in the same way as these two politicians have done.

Maybe you don't mind that you will be remembered as someone who naively allowed suspects in a child's disappearance to make use of them in order to create positive media spin.

But it is a shame that you are prepared to allow the cause of missing children to be distorted in this way.

I think you would be far better employed in putting together a law that prevented parents from profiting financially in any way from their child's disappearance.

A similar law was set up to prevent parents from insuring their children's lives many many years ago. It appears that setting up funds on the back of a missing child is becoming a growth industry and stopping this would probably do more to protect children than an Amber alert which bears no relevance at all to the case of Madeleine McCann - unless such an alert would alert that toddlers had been left at risk and alone in an unlocked room in an unlocked apartment, near dangerous stone steps, a busy road and a swimming pool.

How anyone could align themselves with parents comfortable to abandon their children night after night in these circumstances - simply because they wished to enjoy a social evening without their children's awkward presence - is beyond me entirely.

You do yourself and your government no service by this shady association, which is unprecedented and appears calculated to derail a criminal investigation.

Best regards

PL

I am enquiring as to whether this piece of information is true......

Edward McMillan-Scott, MEP, is to meet McCanns at the European Parliament where they will make the case for an Amber alert system for children who go missing.

If so, I would like to express my distaste for Mr McMillan's actions. These two individuals are currently 'arguidos' in the case of their 'missing' daughter. Not only this, but they have brought shame onto the nation of Britain's parents.

The fundamental issue here is that Mr and Mrs McCann are still under police investigation for the disappearance of their daughter. This followed a period of substantial neglect on their part, where they - by their own admission - left their 3 year old daughter and 18 month old twins night after night alone. I cannot possibly think of two worse ambassadors for this system than Mr and Mrs McCann.

I believe that it is vital that this meeting is cancelled or at least postponed until the British public have more information on the procedure of the Madeleine McCann case. The meeting would not go down well amongst the British public. They are all too aware of the extent of the gagging of the british press in this case, and of other confusing interferences. This meeting would only add to the British public's distrust of Government.

Mr and Mrs McCann may or may not have had a part in the disappearance of their daughter, but until this is known and proven, this meeting will only ever be viewed - by the vast majority of the public - as a smokescreen.

I believe that Sara Payne's mother has far more credential to take part in such an important meeting and discussion as this.

Finally, I believe that if this meeting goes ahead, it will undermine the credibility of two Police Forces, Leicestershire and Portugal, whose difficult task, in the face of extreme adversity, is being undermined at every step of the way.

Dear Mr McMillan-Scott

I would truly like to know why you appear to support the McCanns and the Amber Alert System. The Amber Alert System stands to make quite a lot of people serious money more than save children. If children were given the care they deserve, then how many would actually be abducted? It is obscene making money from a child who is almost certainly dead, unless of course, this is all a massive hoax in the name of mind control and manipulation, perhaps it is?

Are you also supporting Microchipping of children along with a European wide DNA database, eventually having every persons DNA on record? It feels as thought we're be bullied into a 'Brave New World', marching to the beat of 'Common Purpose'.

I look forward to your reply, which I sincerely hope is more direct than the usual political non-answer.

Dear Mr McMillan-Scott MEP

It has come to my attention that you are to meet with Mr & Mrs McCann regarding the Amber Alert system.I believe this to be morally wrong in view of the fact that the police force investigating the "disappearance" of Madeleine McCann have identified Mr & Mrs McCann as PRIME suspects.

Even if they were not suspects, they are by their own admission serial child neglecters, having abandoned 2 babies and a young child night after night in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country, whilst they went out drinking. They prefer to call this behaviour "naive", I prefer to call it child neglect.

In my opinion, associating the Amber Alert system with the parents of Madeleine McCann can only serve to undermine what you are trying to achieve.

I strongly urge you reconsider this planned meeting, which will no doubt be used by Team McCann and their PR machine as a publicity stunt to divert attention away from the ongoing police investigation into the possible involvement of the parents with the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.

Yours sincerely

BT

I was appalled when I read that you are planning to meet with Mr and Mrs McCann at the European Parliament next week with regard to an Amber Alert System.

Firstly, Mr and Mrs McCann are at this moment in time, suspects in the disappearance of their daughter and secondly, they willfully neglected their children consistently on their holiday in Portugal last year by leaving them alone in an unfamiliar apartment, whilst they dined approximately 100 yards from said apartment.

I am not against a system that can help children who go missing, but I feel that Mr and Mrs McCann should not be made ambassadors of such a system whilst they are still under suspicion in their child's disappearance.I know of no other case whereby suspects are given such publicity. It absolutely beggars belief.
