A Question of Double Standards

Dear Edward

According to a report in the Guardian, you criticised the police over the Shannon Matthews' investigation. You complained that "in more than three out of four cases like this a family member is involved', police should have conducted a 'thorough search [of all family members that] would have included the suspect in this case."

My question to you, Edward, is do you also think that the police should search the houses of all the McCann family members? Or do you, like many British politicians, apply one standard to the McCanns and another standard to everyone else?

Please reply by making an unambiguous demand in the media that all the McCann family's houses should be searched. If you are unable to do this and instead you simply entertain the McCanns at the European Parliament with cucumber sandwiches and photo opportunities, do you understand why we will call you a hypocrite and repeatedly bring this matter up at the European elections next year?
